Do your job!
This was an expressions of one of my former bosses. He would use this phrase if you started to slack off. It was rude sounding and made everyone who heard it mad. He would stand there and repeat several times, “Just do your job!”
I think many times if God was to verbally tell us something, it would be the same thing. This is especially true of Christians. Christians are entrusted with several things that we must do. The final few statements of Jesus before He ascended up was a job description. Matthew 28:18-20 states the following:
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
If the boss man was to walk up on us unawares, would he find us “going, teaching, and baptizing” as he commanded? Not just this but “all that I have commanded you.” How would we fare on that job site?
Flomaton church of Christ is committed to “do its job.” We encourage everyone to put your Christian work boots on and get busy. You are also encouraged to be part of us as we work because as Jesus states, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” (John 9:4)
